A 2014 FIFA World Cup participant with Honduras, Claros was acquired on July 16 from Motagua of the Honduran Liga Nacional. He won two domestic championships and one international title with the club and has nine years of experience at the national team level.
2014: MLS: Played in seven matches with four starts. Made his MLS and competitive club debut on Aug. 1, playing 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Philadelphia. MLS Playoffs: Played 90 minutes in a 2-1 loss at New York in the Eastern Conference Knockout Round (Oct. 30). CCL: Started three of four total appearances (300 minutes) in the 2014-15 group stage. Open Cup: Did not feature. Friendly: Played 45 minutes in a 4-1 Champions Shield defeat to Manchester City on July 23 at Sporting Park, his first appearance in a Sporting KC jersey.
PROFESSIONAL: Claros began his professional career at Honduran club Vida in 2004 and signed for Motagua a year later. The defensive midfielder helped the team win Liga Nacional titles during the 2007-08 Apertura and 2010-11 Clausura, as well as the 2007 Copa Interclubes UNCAF, an international competition featuring the top teams in Central America. He joined Scottish side Hibernian on loan in January 2012 and played 53 matches for club in all competitions with 48 starts, including the 2012 and 2013 Scottish Cup Finals. He returned to CD Motagua in May 2013.
2013-14: Returned to Motagua and made 24 appearances, including 18 starts, during the 2013 Apertura and 2014 Clausura campaigns.
2012-13: Played 40 matches and contributed two assists for Hibernian in all competitions. Started the Scottish Cup Final in a 3-0 defeat to Celtic.
2012: Joined Hibernian on loan in January and made 13 appearances in all competitions. Started the Scottish Cup Final in a 5-1 defeat to Heart of Midlothian.
2005-2011: Spent six years with Motagua as the club won the 2007 Interclubes UNCAF as well as the 2007-08 Apertura and 2010-11 Clausura in the Honduran Liga Nacional.

Claros was a member of the Honduras Men's National Team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was a second half substitute in the nation's first group stage match against France and played the full 90 minutes in the following two games against Ecuador and Switzerland.
Claros has earned 57 caps and scored three goals for Honduras since his senior team debut in 2006. He most recently appeared in a pair of friendlies against Venezuela on Feb. 4 and 11, 2015. Since joining Sporting KC, he has also featured in a 2-0 friendly loss to Mexico on Oct. 9 and a 1-1 friendly draw against the United States on Oct. 14, 2014. He saw action at the 2007 and 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cups, the 2007 and 2011 editions of the Copa Centroamericana, and played in three matches at the 2008 Summer Olympics in China. He also represented his country at the 2005 Youth World Cup in the Netherlands.
Claros has scored three goals at the international level. He scored a brace to lead Honduras past Guatemala 3-1 in the group stage of the 2011 Copa Centroamerica, a tournament Honduras would go on to win. In the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup group stage, he scored a 92nd-minute goal to give Honduras a 1-0 win over El Salvador.
