Assistant Director of Player Personnel
Sporting Kansas City appointed MEGHAN CAMERON as the club’s Assistant Director of Player Personnel in December 2017.
Cameron works directly with Sporting KC Technical Director and Vice President of Player Personnel Brian Bliss, specializing in roster and budget management while also holding a player development and scouting role for the first team, Sporting Kansas City II and the Sporting KC Academy.
Cameron brings a wealth of knowledge and professional experience from her previous role as Senior Manager, Player Relations at Major League Soccer. She worked within the Player Relations and Competition Department from 2010-17, helping all MLS clubs manage their respective rosters and budgets. She also approved player acquisitions, trades and oversaw the League’s competition calendar.
While at MLS, Cameron coordinated a variety of player initiatives, including the annual Media and Marketing Tour, the Rookie Symposium and numerous events at the MLS All-Star Game and MLS Homegrown Game. At the international level, she facilitated youth coaching partnerships with Spain’s La Liga and the French Football Federation. Prior to joining MLS, Cameron was a member of the D.C. United sales team from 2005-2008.
Cameron, a native of Roxbury Township, New Jersey, played collegiate soccer at Rutgers University — just as Peter Vermes did from 1985-1987. She helped the Scarlet Knights reach the Sweet 16 of the 2002 NCAA Tournament and received Big East Academic All-American honors in 2004. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications in 2005.
