Patterson Cup Schedule:
Teams competing in the U-14 and U-13 age groups will play four group stage games a piece with four spots in the semifinals up for grabs. The U-12s will play six matches in a round-robin format, and the top two teams will meet in the finals at the end of Saturday.
The Patterson Cup is named after Sporting KC co-owner Neal Patterson and his wife Jeanne, both of whom lost their lives to cancer in 2017. For over a decade, the Patterson Family helped transform Sporting KC into the model MLS organization it is today. Their unwavering commitment to the growth of soccer in Kansas City has been manifested through the development of state-of-the-art facilities, technological innovation at sporting events and significant investment in soccer at the youth level.
Sporting's U-14s and U-13s will look to close out their 2023-24 seasons on a high note, acting as the hosts this week. Both teams traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico in November 2023 to compete in the Corons Cup and to Orlando, Florida for the Easter International Cup. The U-14s took home the title in Orlando, giving that group of players two wins at Easter International since 2022. The U-12s for Sporting are comprised of a group of players that will rise to the U-13 level next year after earning spots on the roster through tryouts and the Sporting Kansas City Center of Excellence.
