The Sporting Kansas City Academy kicked off the 2014-15 Generation adidas Cup on Sunday with a 4-2 win over Aspire Academy (Qatar) at the Toyota Soccer Center at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. After a scoreless first half, the U16's came from behind with goals from Jared Crist, Paul Whitener, Fernando Borges and Chase Bromstedt.
The victory moves Sporting KC atop Group A with games against Toronto FC (Canada) on Monday and River Plate (Argentina) on Wednesday still to come in the group stage.
