Academy U12's crowned champions of Heartland U13 Premier division

Sporting KC Academy Under-12's

Sporting Kansas City's Under-12 Academy, led by head coach Matt Trumpp, wrapped up their Heartland Soccer Association spring season on Sunday as champions of the Under-13 Boys Premier division with a perfect 8-0-0 record.

April 26: 6-0 win vs. KC Fusion Academy Plumhoff
April 29: 2-0 win vs. Toca FC
May 15: 2-0 win vs. Sporting Kaw Valley Jambars
May 17: 2-1 win vs. Futura Cesena Academy


The Under-12 Academy side scored 35 goals during league play, while keeping six clean sheets and conceding only two goals during the campaign. The spring season was also highlighted by Sporting Kansas City's participation in the inaugural U-12 Generation adidas Cup in Texas, where they secured victories over FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo and Queretaro (Mexico) during the 12-team tournament.

Sporting Kansas City's under-12 and under-14 teams will now prepare for Kansas State Cup, to be played May 26 through June 4 at the Overland Park Soccer Complex. The competition features the top teams from across the state and is the first step in qualifying for US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championships and the US Youth Soccer National Championships.
