Sporting Kansas City Under-14 Academy defender Cameron Duke was named to the United States Under-14 Boys' National Team roster on Monday for a training camp in Madrid, Spain from Feb. 6-16. During the trip abroad, the 20-player U.S. squad will play Academy sides representing Real Madrid (Feb. 10), Rayo Vallecano (Feb. 11) and Extremadura (Feb. 14).
Last March, Duke participated in US Club Soccer's id2 Training Camp along with approximately 60 boys born in 2001. The 13-year-old Olathe, Kansas native has since been invited to join the United States Under-14 Boys' National Team for each of the age group's first three training camps during the new cycle.
Duke was one of 48 players who convened in Carson, California for the U.S. U14 BNT training camp in October at U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center. Most recently, Duke was on the 36-player roster for the United States Under-14's first camp of 2015 held last month in Bradenton, Florida.
The U.S. Under-14 Boys' National Team is led by head coach Brian Johnson, a member of KC's 2000 MLS Cup team during a five-year career spent in Kansas City from 1997-2001. Follow @ussoccer_ynt on Twitter for updates from the upcoming training camp.
