Amer Didic earns second consecutive USL Team of the Week honors

Didic vs. STL

SPR defender Amer Didic has been named to the USL Team of the Week for the second consecutive week. The 21-year-old played the full 90 minutes in Saturday’s 1-0 shutout win over Saint Louis FC, protecting the Rangers’ early lead with strong tackles, interceptions and aerial dominance.

Saturday’s shutout was the Rangers’ second in a row, while Didic has now played every minute in all three of SPR’s shutouts this season. Since breaking into the starting lineup in the 2-1 win over Tulsa on May 14, the Edmonton, Alberta native has started eight of the side’s last nine games.

The Swope Park Rangers are back in action this Saturday, traveling west to taken on Arizona United SC at the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Ariz. That game will kick off at 9:30 p.m. CT and will be live streamed on SportingKC.com.
