Atlanta United FC selected Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Alec Kann in the fifth and final round of the 2016 MLS Expansion Draft on Tuesday.
Kann, 26, joined Sporting Kansas City ahead of the 2016 season. The goalkeeper started 10 matches in all competitions, making 21 saves with two shutouts and a 4-3-3 record. He becomes the ninth all-time Sporting KC player to be selected in an MLS Expansion Draft.
A busy offseason week is only beginning, as Free Agents can begin negotiations with all MLS clubs starting today at 4 p.m. CT. A list of players eligible for selection in the Waiver Draft will go public Wednesday, and the Waiver Draft will take place Thursday at 1 p.m. CT.
