Audio: 1-on-1 with Jimmy Nielsen -

Jimmy Nielsen was back between the pipes for Sporting Kansas City on Friday, wasting little time in picking up right where he left off after being named an MLS All-Star, MLS Best XI and Goalkeeper of the Year last season. He started the team's pre-season scrimmage against the New England Revolution and went 30 minutes without allowing a goal before handing over the reigns to Eric Kronberg and Jon Kempin to finish off the clean sheet.

And though Nielsen was doing what he always does for Sporting Kansas City on Friday, he'll have the opportunity to do something he hasn't done in quite some time on Saturday when he takes a seat inside Kino Stadium to watch his native Denmark play Canada in an international friendly. Nielsen, born in Aalborg, played for Demark's youth national teams and spent more than a dozen seasons playing professionally in the Danish professional league before arriving in Kansas City.

I tracked down the Sporting KC captain in the locker room after today's exhibition in  Arizona to talk to him about being a player on Friday and transforming into a fan on Saturday. Hear what he had to say below...
