Big Slick is an annual charity event hosted by a group of celebrities from the Kansas City area. It began in 2010 with hosts Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis and has since grown to include fellow area natives Eric Stonestreet and David Koechner. Through various initiatives, the group of local celebrities raises money and awareness for Children’s Mercy Hospital. Each year, the hosts invite celebrities from around the country to participate in the event including a celebrity softball game held before a Royals game.
In 2015, Sporting KC defender Matt Besler participated in the softball game. This year, midfielder Benny Feilhaber was up at bat.
Feilhaber got his warmup on with James Van Der Beek before the World Cup veteran made his way to bat. It was evident that with Feilhaber's first hit, he was focused on making contact. Feilhaber did just that and got on base with a single. At his next at bat, Feilhaber was going for power, and he hit a deep sacrifice fly to left field plating one run. Teammate Rob Riggle advanced to third on the sacrifice fly and scored on a fielding error.
