Draw for largest-ever Concacaf Gold Cup set for Wednesday

2019 Conacaf Gold Cup at Children's Mercy Park

The 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup group assignments and schedule will be revealed Wednesday in a draw at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, streaming live at 5 p.m. CT on FOX Sports GO.

Children’s Mercy Park has already been confirmed to host a Group D doubleheader featuring the United States Men’s National Team on June 26. Wednesday’s draw will unveil the U.S. MNT’s opponent as well as the two other teams slated to visit Kansas City for the final round of group stage matches. Tickets for the doubleheader are on sale now at SeatGeek.com.

As one of the tournament’s four seeded teams alongside Mexico, Costa Rica and Honduras, the U.S. already knows the venues for its three group stage fixtures. The Americans visit the new Allianz Field in Minneapolis on June 18 and Cleveland’s FirstEnergy Stadium on June 22 before venturing to Children’s Mercy Park.

Opponents will be revealed during Wednesday’s draw, which will place the 16 competing nations into four groups of four. The top two finishers in each group will progress to the quarterfinal round of the knockout stage. The 2019 edition will be the largest in tournament history and the first to host matches outside of the U.S., Canada and Mexico, as Costa Rica and Jamaica are both slated to host group stage fixtures.

The Gold Cup begins on June 15 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, while the final is set for July 7 at Soldier Field in Chicago.
