Erik Palmer-Brown and US U20's set for semifinal showdown in Dallas Cup -

Sporting Kansas City defender Erik Palmer-Brown featured in each of the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team's three group stage matches at the 2014 Dallas Cup as the United States (3-0-0) finished atop Bracket C in the Gordon Jago Super Group and advanced to tonight's semifinal match-up with Brazilian Bracket B winners Fluminense (2-0-1). The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT at Cotton Bowl Stadium with in-game coverage available from

and

on Twitter.

"One of the things I really like about competing in the Dallas Cup is the fact that we have the opportunity to compete against international teams," said head coach Tab Ramos. "We're in an identification mode. We're looking at the players and seeing how they all react to these type of games."

The U.S. U20's secured their spot in the knockout round with a 1-0 victory over Tigres UANL on Wednesday (full match report below). Palmer-Brown came off the bench in the 88th minute and has now logged 137 minutes at the tournament, considered the most prestigious youth soccer competition in the United States.

Palmer-Brown, 16, is in his first full camp at the under-20 level and his performances against international opposition continue to draw attention, according to DallasCup.com...

The one name thats keeps being passed among the scouts at the Dallas Cup is Sporting Kansas City's homegrown player, Erik Palmer-Brown. The youngest player on the U20 squad, Erik started and paired with Trevor Haberkorn at center-back for the Eintracht Frankfurt game. Erik Palmer-Brown was recently the topic of interest from Italian club, Juventus.

Tonight's winner will advance to the Dallas Cup final to take on either Coritiba (BRA) or River Plate (ARG) for the Boot and Ball trophy. The championship will be played at 6 p.m. CT on Sunday at the Cotton Bowl.
