The epic championship match, which continues to serve as the club's crowning chapter, saw Sporting defeat Real Salt Lake on penalty kicks following a 1-1 draw amidst freezing temperatures.
Sporting's greatest goal at Children's Mercy Park, meanwhile, went to former midfielder Yohan Croizet. The Frenchman's world-class volley in a 3-2 victory over FC Dallas on June 16, 2018 will forever be an iconic moment for the club.
