FC Kansas City announced Tuesday that the club will play two matches at Children’s Mercy Park in 2016. The state-of-the-art venue will host FC Kansas City’s home opener against the Western New York Flash on April 16 and a fixture with Sky Blue FC on Sept. 4.
The Blues enter 2016 as two-time defending champions of the National Women’s Soccer League, having gone on the road to defeat Seattle Reign FC in the 2014 and 2015 championship games. The club will defend its second consecutive title during a 20-game regular season that features eight home matches at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri, in addition to the two contests at Children’s Mercy Park.
FC Kansas City will open its season at Children’s Mercy Park for the second straight year after facing Sky Blue FC to kick off the 2015 campaign last April. For FC Kansas City ticket information, call 855-4KC-GOAL.
