Film Session: Sporting's Tim Melia talks tactics and positioning with former goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum

Goalkeepers and soccer fanatics of all ages are in for a proper treat.

Former Sporting Kansas City player Andy Gruenebaum, a Kansas native who has served as a youth goalkeeping coach in the Kansas City area since retiring from MLS in 2014, recently caught up with Tim Melia for an in-depth and insightful film session.

Over the course of 35 minutes, Gruenebaum and Melia dissect several goalkeeping scenarios, providing an exceptional look at the tactics, positioning, distribution and decision making involved with the position. As the interview unfolds, select clips of Melia between the posts for Sporting Kansas City give viewers an excellent educational tool, especially for young goalkeepers looking to hone their games.
