When Sporting KC signed Tim Melia on December 23, 2014, he was brought in to be a veteran number two behind starter Luis Marin. Five months later, Melia was thrown into the proverbial fire in a nationally televised match against Chicago. Suffice to say, he never looked back and two-and-a-half years later, the New York native was voted Major League Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year.
Relive Melia's first match with Sporting KC, a 1-0 victory that saw him make three saves against the Fire.
