Sporting's first triumph of the 2018 campaign was an instant classic, played before a late-winter crowd at Toyota Park. Gerso came off the bench to give Sporting a spark, Zusi was highly involved on the right flank, and Salloi notched two assists, including the 86th-minute game-winner to Gutierrez. Sporting emerged victorious to kickstart what became a banner season that resulted in a first-place finish in the Western Conference.
