Sporting Kansas City Homegrown player Gianluca Busio was today named to the bench of the USL Team of the Week after appearing in his first two professional matches last week.
On his professional debut last Wednesday against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Children's Mercy Park, the 15-year-old set up the only goal of the game with an excellent turn and pass to find Tyler Blackwood for the game-winner in the first half.
In first half alone, Busio led the team with a 100 percent passing accuracy (30/30), one assist, two key passes and three crosses.
He followed up that performance with another solid display in the 1-1 draw with San Antonio FC at Toyota Field on Saturday. Busio went 68 minutes before being replaced by Rodrigo Saravia as the Rangers remained in a tie for first in the Western Conference with 10 points.
