Graham Zusi takes home AT&T Goal of the Week

Graham Zusi - Sporting KC vs LA Galaxy - July 19, 2014

Sporting KC winger Graham Zusi's game-tying goal against Toronto FC last Saturday has been voted the Major League Soccer AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 20.

Zusi's goal narrowly beat out Columbus Crew midfielder Federico Higuain's well-placed free kick with 28.63% of the vote. This is Zusi's second Goal of the Week honor in as many seasons, after the USMNT winger beat Chicago Fire goalkeeper Paolo Tornaghi from distance in July 2013.

After Jackson put Toronto FC ahead 1-0 in the first half at BMO Field last weekend, Sporting KC's four-game road unbeaten streak looked in jeopardy. The MLS All-Star midfielder responded, though, picking up a loose ball after a scramble in the Toronto penalty box, and striking a well-placed shot into the corner of the net only minutes after halftime.

Sporting Kansas City is now 15-0-1 all-time in MLS matches when Zusi scores a goal. Saturday's goal also puts Zusi in 10th place in the club's all-time chart with 19.

Sporting KC will look to extend their unbeaten run to eight straight Friday night when they host the Philadelphia Union at Sporting Park. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT and the match will be nationally televised on NBCSN. Limited tickets are available and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or at the Sporting Park box office.
