Sporting Kansas City is dealing with a host of injury concerns as the side prepares to take on reigning MLS Cup champions Atlanta United at Children’s Mercy Park tonight. Nine players in total are on the injury report, with seven out and two questionable.
Defender Andreu Fontas and midfielder Ilie Sanchez are both questionable with respective calf issues. Defenders Matt Besler (hamstring), Jaylin Lindsey (torn meniscus), Jimmy Medranda (knee) and Rodney Wallace (hip), midfielder Roger Espinoza (PCL) and forwards Gerso Fernandes (broken wrist) and Erik Hurtado (knee) are all out.
Atlanta arrives in Kansas City dealing with four injuries of their own, as defenders Mikey Ambrose (knee) and George Bello (hip), midfielder Kevin Kratz (calf) and forward Brandon Vazquez (knee) will all miss the match through injury.
