Sporting Kansas City went to the Rose City on Sunday and came away with a 3-0 loss to the Portland Timbers. The game was not without controversy, however, as both teams were forced to play with 10 men due to red cards.
First, it was Timbers midfielder Diego Chara who saw red in the 12th minute of the match. Then, it was Sporting KC midfielder Soni Mustivar who was ejected six minutes before halftime. Mustivar - along with Roger Espinoza who is suspended due to caution accumulation - will miss Saturday's road test against MLS leaders FC Dallas.
In this week's episode of Instant Replay, MLSsoccer.com's Simon Borg analyzes each play as well as other controversial calls from the week. So what do you think? Should Mustivar have received a red card or would a yellow card have been enough? Leat us know in the comments section below.
