Major League Soccer announced today the nominees for the 2024 AT&T MLS Goal of the Year.
Sporting Kansas City midfielder Jake Davis is one of 20 finalists for the honor and fans can vote for his May 18th goal at Austin FC until Monday, Oct. 28.
A 22-year-old product of the Sporting KC Academy, Davis is also nominated for MLS Young Player of the Year and became the youngest team MVP in club history this season.
Davis ranked second on the squad with eight assists across all competitions -- including three assists in Sporting's run to the U.S. Open Cup Final -- while ranking eighth in MLS in tackles (73).
Deployed as a right back or a central midfielder, Davis tallied 11 total goal contributions this season (three goals, eight assists) and was a member of the U.S. Men's Olympic Soccer Team this summer in France.
