Sporting KC and the Kansas City Zoo are teaming up to provide a soccer-themed experience on Sunday in Swope Park just minutes from the team’s Swope Soccer Village training facility11635. Fans are encouraged to join Sporting KC players Chance Myers, Benny Feilhaber, Tim Melia and Roger Espinoza for Sporting KC Day at the Zoo.
Festivities are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CT for attendees of all ages and will be highlighted by all four players showcasing their skills alongside zoo animals. Myers and Feilhaber will play soccer with the sea lions at 1:30 p.m. CT followed by a 30-minute autograph session for fans. Melia and Espinoza will brave the cold with the Helzberg penguins at 2:30 p.m. CT before they too take part in a meet-and-greet session.
Additional activities will be available during the special event, including Sporting Kansas City’s futsal court set up for use by all guests from 12-4 p.m. CT. In the spirit of Sporting KC Day, all six orangutans inside the Orangutan Canopy will be outfitted in Sporting Kansas City merchandise.

General admission adult tickets cost $13.50 while discounted tickets are offered for children ages 3-11 ($10.50) and seniors 55+ ($12.50), as well as Jackson/Clay county residents. Admission is free for Friends of the Zoo members and all children two years old or younger.
