Sporting Kansas City forward Kharlton Belmar is one of five nominees for USL Player of the Month in April, the league announced on Thursday. Fan voting is open online at USLsoccer.com through Monday, May 7 at 12 p.m. ET.
In addition, voting amongst the USL Technical Committee and the USL National Media Panel comprises 50 percent of the weighted vote to determine the USL Player of the Month. USL will announce the voting results and award winner on Thursday, May 10.
After winning the honor in March with four goals and two assists for the Swope Park Rangers, Belmar added three more goals in April. He remains atop the USL goal scoring chart with seven goals in 2018 and has now moved into the top 10 on the USL's all-time goal scoring chart with 36 career regular season goals.
Belmar also made his first appearance of the year for Sporting KC in April, coming off the bench to log 13 minutes of action in last weekend's 1-0 loss at New England.
Sporting Kansas City will host the Colorado Rapids at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Children's Mercy Park while the Rangers are also in action on Cinco de Mayo with a road trip to take on regional rivals OKC Energy FC at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
