Sporting Kansas City heads to Frisco, Texas this weekend for a Western Conference clash against FC Dallas. The match pits two of the top three teams in the Western Conference as well as the top two defensive teams in MLS.
Sporting KC captain Matt Besler joined Nate Bukaty and Steven St. John on The Border Patrol on Wednesday to talk about last weekend's match at Portland, Saturday's match vs Dallas as well as life as a dad.
"It validates what we are trying to do," Besler said of last weekend's win over MLS leaders Portland Timbers. "Everybody wants that positive reinforcement when you are trying to put together ideas and you are working on them every single day and that comes from winning games. When you are able to get a big win like that, you are looking around at guys in the locker after the game, guys are nodding their head and there is a belief that what we are doing here is correct."
Additionally, Sporting KC Manager Peter Vermes joined Soren Petro on The Program on Thursday to talk about the club's hot start to the season as well as the integration of players such as Ilie and Gerso into the club. Listen to the full interview below and stick around for Petro's final four questions in which the Sporting KC Manager reveals the most impressive save he's ever seen and his second best sport as a kid.
