Major League Soccer announced today the MLS Team of the Matchday presented by Audi for Matchday 9 of the regular season with Sporting Kansas City defender Logan Ndenbe and forward Daniel Salloi each honored as two of the top 11 players in the league after the team's 5-3 road win at the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday at PayPal Park.
Salloi, at left wing, posted a career-best performance with two goals and two assists, while Ndenbe, at left back, scored his first career MLS regular season goal and led all Sporting Kansas City players with 57 touches, 50 ball actions and 10 duels won in SJvSKC.
"I’m very, very proud of the team and the way we played," Salloi said in the postgame press conference. "I'm just very happy for the team. Playing away and scoring this many goals and winning this game is huge. It’s very important. So I’m very proud of the guys."
Sporting Kansas City will return to the road this weekend to take on FC Cincinnati at 1:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at TQL Stadium in the opening game of MLS Matchday 10.
The cross-conference match-up will be available to watch on Apple TV with an MLS Season Pass subscription and radio coverage will air locally on ESPN Kansas City 1510 AM and 94.5 FM.
