Sporting Kansas City defender Logan Ndenbe came on as a halftime substitute in the Belgian U-21s friendly against the France U-21 squad, Monday afternoon in Valenciennes, France. Both sides found the back of the net twice, playing to a 2-2 draw to wrap up their respective fixtures for this FIFA international window.
Belgium suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands U-21s on Friday, Sept. 23 to kick off their two-match FIFA international window. In Monday's contest, they jumped out in front in the 41st thanks to a goal from Largie Ramazani. France got back into the match with a goal of their own in the 51st before Belgium reclaimed the lead seven minutes later. The hosts found an equalizer in the 77th and neither side could bag the winner.
Ndenbe earned a seventh cap for the U-21s after helping them qualify for the 2023 UEFA Under-21 Championship in March. The Sporting KC newcomer made six appearances in qualifiers, helping the Red Devils to an undefeated run (6-0-2), and a spot in the competition they failed to qualify for in 2021. The Belgian U-21s will continue to prepare for the tournament, which will consist of 16 countries from across the continent and will take place in Romania and Georgia from June 21-July 8, 2023.
Following Monday's match, Ndenbe will return to Kansas City for Sporting KC's 2022 regular season home finale on Sunday, Oct. 2 against the Seattle Sounders. The match will be broadcast nationally on FS1 with coverage beginning at 4 p.m. CT. Tickets are on sale at SeatGeek.com with no fees as a part of Sunday's Fan Appreciation night.
