Sporting Kansas City newcomer Logan Ndenbe started for the Belgian U-21 Men's National Team's key UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Denmark's U-21. The Belgian U-21's fought back from a 1-0 deficit to tie the contest and officially qualify for the 2023 UEFA Under 21 Championship.
Ndenbe started on the left side of the midfield for the Belgian squad, playing 45 minutes in the draw. Before today, the left-back had started three of four appearances for Sporting before linking up with the Belgian side for his sixth appearance.
Denmark snagged the lead from the Red Devils in the 37th minute off the first shot on target in the match. Gustav Isaksen blasted a set piece into the top of the goal to give Denmark a one-goal advantage. They would take the 1-0 lead into the break as Ndenbe was subbed out.
Belgium evened the score at one apiece in the 53rd and never looked back. Belgium fired the only other shot on frame in the 64th but saw it turned aside as it was going towards the lower corner of the goal.
Thanks to the draw Belgium's U-21s are destined for the 2023 UEFA Under 21 Championship in Romania and Georgia from June 9 to July 2 next year. Ndenbe will be returning to Kansas City in preparation for Saturday's match with Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place in Vancouver Canada.
