Los Angeles FC selected Sporting Kansas City forward Latif Blessing in the second round of the 2017 MLS Expansion Draft on Tuesday.
Blessing, 20, joined Sporting Kansas City ahead of the 2017 season. The Ghanaian recorded six goals and two assists in 31 appearances across all competitions, notably scoring in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final as Sporting KC defeated the New York Red Bulls. Blessing becomes the 10th all-time Sporting KC player to be selected in an MLS Expansion Draft.
A busy offseason week is underway in Major League Soccer, as Free Agents can begin negotiations with all clubs starting today at 2 p.m. CT. A list of players eligible for selection in the Waiver Draft will go public tonight, and the Waiver Draft will take place Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. CT.
