No goal scorer in club history had a season in Major League Soccer quite like Miklos Molnar did in 2000. In his one and only campaign with the club, the Danish Dynamite hammered home 17 goals in 24 MLS matches (including playoffs) for a 0.71 goals per game average that stands as the team's best single-season mark all-time. Nine of the goals were game-winners, including the lone goal in the 2000 MLS Cup...
Molnar returned to the U.S. on Monday for a two-month road trip across the states. His first stop? Kansas City. He took in Sporting Park for the first time on Tuesday and was recognized on the field at halftime of the CCL match between Sporting KC and Real Esteli.
"It's great to be back and it's great to see that soccer is growing every year," Molnar said. "Every time I come back I can see it's growing. It's good to see."
Molnar also reminisced with local media about the historic 2000 season, his last as a professional.
"Everything turned out great. We won everything," he told reporters. "It's, for sure, some of my best memories in my soccer life."
