Fans can tune into FOX Sports Kansas City and FOX Sports GO at 7 and 9 p.m. CT this Saturday for a re-airing of the Kansas City Wizards' epic 1-0 win over the Chicago Fire in MLS Cup 2000.
Taking place at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C., the historic matchup will feature a second-screen experience with commentary from Sporting Manager Peter Vermes and assistant coach Kerry Zavagnin, both of whom helped the Wizards to their first league championship as players on Oct. 15, 2000.

Led by head coach Bob Gansler, Kansas City edged Chicago for the 2000 Supporters' Shield title by virtue of greater goal difference, but the Fire were tabbed as heavy favorites heading into MLS Cup. Boasting the likes of Hristo Stoitchkov, Peter Nowak and Ante Razov, Chicago had the league's best attack and was just two years removed from winning their first MLS Cup title under head coach Bob Bradley.
The Wizards, meanwhile, had predicated themselves on stingy defense en route to setting numerous records in 2000. MLS MVP Tony Meola kept 16 clean sheets during the regular season and went 681 minutes without allowing a goal from April to May. Vermes was the lynchpin of a resolute backline and ended the campaign with MLS Defender of the Year honors.
In a game that will always be remembered for its clash of styles, Kansas City emerged victorious thanks to an early Miklos Molnar goal, stout defending and 10 saves from Meola, who delivered arguably the greatest goalkeeping performance in league history.
