The 2017 edition of the popular online game is now live and features a few huge changes from previous years.
Unlimited transfers. Every. Single. Round.
No joke: you now have the opportunity to make wholesale changes round by round, week by week. This makes it easier to adjust for injuries, unbalanced schedules and suspensions. No more point deductions for excess transfers.
Scoring Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
- The “salary” cap has been reduced to $100 million, and rosters have been reduced to 15 players: two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and three forwards
- Clean sheets for goalkeepers and defenders are now worth five points
Eyes on the Prize
Fortunately there is more than just office bragging rights at stake.
- VIP trip to the MLS All-Star Game for the mid-season champion (through Round 17)
- VIP trip to MLS Cup for the overall winner
Contestants who finish 2nd through 10th in the overall league will be handsomely rewarded as well, receiving prizes ranging from $200 to $1000.
Moreover, $250 gift cards will be rewarded to each of the 23 Supporters League winners and any private league that has at least 750 members. Sporting KC fans unite!

MLS Fantasy is introducing the new Opening Weekend Challenge, which gives the top scorer from the first weekend an MLS starter pack—including a $200 MLSstore.com gift card, two tickets to an upcoming MLS match and an MLS LIVE subscription.
After the Opening Weekend Challenge, all scores will start fresh at zero in Round 2. That’s when the marathon well and truly begins toward potential prizes and, of course, office bragging rights.

Second, get your friends involved by creating or joining leagues. “Classic” leagues simply compile points over the course of the whole season, while “head-to-head” leagues pit you against a different opponent every round and determine an overall winner by win-loss records.
