More than 60 MLS hopefuls are arriving in southern Florida today as the 2015 adidas MLS Player Combine begins at Central Broward Regional Park. The annual event kicks off exactly one week from the 2015 MLS SuperDraft (11 a.m. CT on Jan. 15) at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, where Sporting Kansas City holds four of the top 30 selections (No. 10, 12, 20 and 30 overall).
Sporting Kansas City Academy Director of Coaching Jon Parry is amongst a mix of collegiate head coaches and MLS Academy personnel on the 2015 Combine coaching staff, along with former KC assistant coach Kris Kelderman and former KC goalkeeper Bo Oshoniyi.
Top collegiate players from across the country and select youth internationals will showcase their talents in front of representatives from all 20 Major League Soccer clubs during the six-day Combine. Among the participants are 13 players who have signed contracts with Major League Soccer -- five Generation adidas members and eight college seniors -- including Overland Park native Nick Besler, the younger brother of Sporting Kansas City captain Matt Besler.
