While more and more clubs continue to sign Homegrown players, the MLS SuperDraft still remains a crucial component for many teams. Heading into Thursday's 2014 MLS SuperDraft, Sporting Kansas City holds the 38th overall pick.
The final pick of the second round might not seem like an ideal position to find a quality player but history shows there's plenty of value to be found in the later rounds of the SuperDraft. Currently, there are four players (Graham Zusi, Seth Sinovic, Jacob Peterson, and Eric Kronberg) on Sporting KC's roster who were selected in the second round or later of the MLS SuperDraft. All four of these players made significant contributions during the 2013 season and are expected to do the same in 2014.
Here's a look at some notable players who've been selected in the second round or later in recent MLS SuperDrafts.
