New in 2024, Behind the Shield presented by Audi will be available after every match this season with the video series - produced by Sporting Kansas City's full-time digital storytellers - providing fans with an immersive viewing experience highlighted by exclusive interviews and all-access footage from Sporting Kansas City players, trainings and matchdays.
This week's BTS captures the sights and sounds from the club's match-up with Minnesota last Saturday, taking viewers on the road as the team traveled to the Twin Cities for the first of three meetings with the Loons in 2024.
Fans can also hear from Sporting KC assistant coach Ash Wallace during the five-minute episode, which can be seen on SportingKC.com, Sporting Kansas City's YouTube channel and MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
"It's a long season and nothing was ever won in the first 10 games. We found that out last year," Wallace said. "Whether you're a staff member or a player, it shows your character when you lose games. When it comes down to it, you've got to strap the laces up and you've got to be ready to go in the next game. We have a lot of good players in our team. I have no doubt they'll be ready when the whistle blows in Salt Lake at the weekend."
Sporting Kansas City will continue the club's three-match road trip this Saturday when the team travels to play Western Conference leaders Real Salt Lake. Kick off is set for 8:30 p.m. CT at America First Field in Sandy, Utah with a free stream available via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Pub partners in the Sporting Pub Network will also show all of the action -- including a watch party at No Other Pub in the Kansas City Power and Light District -- and radio coverage will air on Sports Radio 810 WHB, La Grande 1340 AM and SiriusXM FC.
