New edition of Behind the Shield presented by Audi shines spotlight on SKC defender Robert Castellanos

New in 2024, Behind the Shield presented by Audi will be available after every match week this season with the video series - produced by Sporting Kansas City's full-time digital storytellers - providing fans with an immersive viewing experience highlighted by exclusive interviews and all-access footage from Sporting Kansas City players, trainings and matchdays.

This week's BTS -- which can be seen on SportingKC.com, Sporting Kansas City's YouTube channel and MLS Season Pass on Apple TV -- captures the sights and sounds from the club's disappointing 4-3 defeat to Real Salt Lake at Children's Mercy Park last week and also features a special focus on Sporting KC centerback Robert Castellanos.

"I want to make sure that I become an importance piece for this team and try to help us in any way possible," Castellanos said. "At the end of the day, if the team gets the result that's what really matters...If the team wins, we all win. If the team loses, we all lose. It's bigger than just one person."

Sporting Kansas City will host Austin FC in a Western Conference match-up at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Children's Mercy Park. Tickets are available online at SeatGeek, including the Sporting U Pass offering $15 Supporters' Stand tickets for college students, and Saturday's festivities will feature a pre-match recognition for Roger Espinoza and a post-match fireworks show ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

Saturday's showdown will be available to watch on Apple TV for MLS Season Pass subscribers and radio coverage will air locally on Sports Radio 810 WHB in English and La Grande 1340 AM in Spanish with live audio streams available in the Sporting KC App. In addition, pub partners in the Sporting Pub Network will also show all of the action including a watch party at No Other Pub in the Kansas City Power and Light District with food and drink specials for fans.
