New in 2024, Behind the Shield presented by Audi will be available after every match week this season with the video series - produced by Sporting Kansas City's full-time digital storytellers - providing fans with an immersive viewing experience highlighted by exclusive interviews and all-access footage from Sporting Kansas City players, trainings and matchdays.
This week's BTS -- which can be seen on SportingKC.com, Sporting Kansas City's YouTube channel and MLS Season Pass on Apple TV -- captures the sights and sounds from the club's group stage finale against Deportivo Toluca FC on Monday.
Stephen Afrifa scored the Leagues Cup Goal of the Matchday with a stunning strike from 25 yards out and viewers can hear from the 23-year-old Canadian during the nine-minute episode.
"There are a lot of good players on the team," says Afrifa, who is tied for second on the squad with five goals this season in all competitions. "It's just being able to help the team out in any way and I've been able to do that so I just want it to continue."
Sporting Kansas City will begin the Leagues Cup Knockout Stage on the road at reigning MLS Cup champions Columbus Crew this Friday with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. CT at Lower.com Field in the Ohio capital.
The Round of 32 match-up will be free to watch on Apple TV via MLS Season Pass in addition to live radio coverage available on Sports Radio 810 WHB, La Grande 1340 AM, SiriusXM FC and the Sporting KC App. Pub partners in the Sporting Pub Network will also show all of the action, including the club's official watch party at No Other Pub (1370 Grand Blvd.) in the Kansas City Power & Light District. Food and drink specials will start at 5:30 p.m. CT on Friday and the first 25 fans in attendance will receive their first drink on the club.
