It should come as absolutely no surprise, but it’s worth celebrating, nevertheless.
Sporting Kansas City Manager Peter Vermes—undeniably, unequivocally and eternally—is one of the best dressed coaches in Major League Soccer.
In what has become an annual tradition on MLSsoccer.com, J. Sam Jones ranked his top 10 most sharply dressed managers in the league on Tuesday.
Vermes has been a perennial contender for top spot in the past, and this time was no exception. The longest-tenured head coach in MLS history was tabbed at No. 3, debatably slated behind No. 1 Ronny Deila of New York City FC and No. 2 Luchi Gonzalez of FC Dallas.
“Added points for doing it for over 11 years now and letting the fit show off how you apparently can bench-press a small car if asked," Jones wrote of Vermes. "If any of us look half as good at 54, we need to count our blessings hourly.”
We certainly can’t argue with that assessment.
