Sporting KC welcomed Nixa Soccer Club to Kansas City earlier this month for a fun-filled, two-day trip.
On the first day of their stay, the players and their families visited the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park to participate in a clinic conducted by fitness coach Dave McKay and Sporting KC midfielder Graham Zusi. When it seemed like the summer heat was getting to be a bit much for one of the Nixa players, head athletic trainer Chet North helped cool him down inside the facility and Zusi even made a point to stop in and say hello.
The next night, Nixa SC came out to LIVESTRONG Sporting Park to watch Sporting KC take on English Premier League visitors Stoke City FC. However, the fun didn’t stop there. Not only did the Nixa players get the opportunity to walk out onto the field with the starting lineups before kickoff, but they were also lucky enough to return to the field after the game for a chance to meet Sporting KC players Korede Aiyegbusi and Kei Kamara. One Nixa player in particular was overjoyed getting to meet Kei, who he lists as his personal hero and said he plans to grow his hair out just like his favorite player.
