In a one-on-one interview, Vermes dove deep into the intensity of the playoffs now that all matches are single elimination. He highlighted Vancouver’s intensity and said that Sporting would have to match it on Saturday. Jones discussed the added benefit of a full capacity Children’s Mercy Park versus last year's limited crowd, and Vermes validated him by saying that everything the team does is for the fans. They also discussed Matt Besler’s recent retirement, and why Sporting Kansas City should be every fans’ bandwagon team.
Vermes’ appearance on The Nutmeg Podcast started with him discussing the controversial Decision Day matchup with Real Salt Lake. He followed that up with a brief preview of Saturday’s match, reiterating the health of the squad. He then praised individual players growth in 2021 including MLS MVP candidate Daniel Salloi and star centerback Andreu Fontas.
The final radio appearance of the week for Vermes saw him join The Program on Sports Radio 810 WHB. The segment opened with Vermes, again, discussing the ending to the Real Salt Lake game. They then went on to discuss the health of the club, Vancouver’s form and how big of a role momentum plays.
Duke’s appearance on Tidal League FC was a one-on-one interview with Goodman. They rehashed his pandemic experiences, training without the team and finding creative ways to stay fit, as well as how much he loves being an adidas athlete. The Sporting KC Academy product recapped the team's late-season performances, the controversy around the Real Salt Lake game and looked ahead to Saturday’s playoff match and the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs.
