Sporting Kansas City Manager and Sporting Director Peter Vermes is the featured guest on the latest episode of the "Futbol with Grant Wahl" podcast series, released on Thursday and available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other platforms.
Now in his 13th season on the sidelines for Sporting, Vermes is the longest-tenured head coach in MLS and the league’s all-time leader in games coached for one club. During his tenure, he has won four major trophies – the 2012, 2015 and 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cups and the 2013 MLS Cup championship – and finished atop the Eastern Conference regular season standings in 2011 and 2012, as well as the Western Conference table in 2018 and 2020.
His 168 regular-season wins top the club’s all-time chart and rank fifth most in MLS history, one shy of Dominic Kinnear.
