As Sporting Kansas City’s 2022 MLS regular season home opener looms, SportingKC.com is rolling out a 15-day countdown until MLS is back at Children’s Mercy Park. Sporting begins its 2022 campaign with today’s visit to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for a matchup with Atlanta United FC at 2 p.m. CT. Sporting will then host longtime rival Houston Dynamo FC at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 5 at Children's Mercy Park.

While we are just six days away from soccer returning to Children’s Mercy Park MLS is back for Sporting KC today as they take on Atlanta United at Mercedes-Benz Stadium with kickoff at 2 p.m. CT. The match is one of 10 nationally broadcasted matches, with it being available to watch on FS1 FOX Deportes, and streamed at foxsports.com and in the FOX Sports app. Today we will look at Sporting KC's revamped broadcast in 2022.
This offseason Sporting has announced a new broadcasting partnership with 38 The Spot as well as new technology that will be integrated into the broadcast. Twenty-six of Sporting’s matches will air on 38 The Spot and will also be available to stream in the Sporting KC app and at SportingKC.com/live. All matches are available over the radio in English at 810 WHB and in Spanish at 1340 La Grande.
For the third year in a row, Nate Bukaty and Jacob Peterson will be on the call together for all locally broadcasted matches. In her second year with the club, Aly Trost will provide commentary from the sidelines throughout the match.
Sporting’s nationally broadcasted matches include today’s season-opening match against Atlanta on FS1, the home opener against Houston on Univision and TUDN, an early summer showdown against the Supporters’ Shield holding New England Revolution on ABC and the club’s first match in Nashville SC’s brand-new stadium on FS1.
38 The Spot will air Sporting’s matches against Western Conference champions Portland Timbers in May, July’s showdown with 2021 MLS Cup champions NYCFC and Sporting’s Decision Day matchup at FC Dallas on October 9.
This season promises to have the most fan-oriented broadcast in team history. With a new broadcast partner, 10 nationally broadcasted matches and brand new technology being incorporated into the production, fans will have unprecedented access to Sporting all season.
