The show is highlighted by a nearly 30-minute interview with Peter Vermes, who enters his 14th season as Sporting Kansas City's manager in 2022.
The longest tenured head coach in Major League Soccer has a veteran core of players on his roster with the likes of Graham Zusi (14th season with SKC), Roger Espinoza (13th season with SKC), Tim Melia (8th season with SKC) and Daniel Salloi (7th season with SKC) - a group he credited with accelerating the club's progress this preseason.
"Having a nucleus of guys that have been here before, there's an ability to comprehend stuff really quickly and to get back into who we are is pretty straight forward," Vermes said. "Some of the new guys have been able to acclimate quicker because you've got so many guys who have been through (preseason) before."
Sporting Kansas City will continue the club's 2022 preseason, presented by Children's Mercy, on Saturday against USL Championship hosts Phoenix Rising FC. The match will kick off at 5:30 p.m. CT and will be live-streamed on SportingKC.com/Live and in the Sporting KC Mobile App for viewers in Kansas and Missouri (excluding the St. Louis area per MLS policy). Fans can also follow @SKCMatchday on Twitter for live updates.
