Sporting Kansas City continued the club's participation in the 2025 Coachella Valley Invitational on Sunday with a 6-0 loss to Minnesota United FC in a preseason exhibitiion at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif.
Tani Oluwaseyi started the scoring in the 10th minute as he headed home a cross from Joaquin Pereyra, who would double the Loons' lead in the 12th minute when his pass from the endline was deflected into the back of the net.
Joseph Rosales added a third in the 18th minute with a first-time finish into an empty net before Oluwaseyi bagged a brace in similar fashion six minutes later on an assist from Kelvin Yeboah.
The 24-year-old forward would add two goals of his own, scoring his first on the stroke of halftime with a strike from the top of the penalty area and then adding Minnesota's sixth of the day in the 58th minute to round out the scoring.
Ten of the 11 starters from Wednesday's CVI opener would enter the match just before the hour mark, while Colombian centerback Dany Rosero departed after a 15-minute cameo in his first match action of preseason. After shutting out NYCFC four days ago, goalkeeper John Pulskamp and the SKC defense held the Loons scoreless over the final 30 minutes of play.
Sporting will conclude the club's preseason campaign with an exhibition match against USL Championship side Las Vegas Lights FC at 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday. Live updates from the closed-door scrimmage will be provided via @SportingKC_PR on X.
