Sporting Kansas City concluded the club's preseason stay in southern California on Wednesday with a scoreless draw against Las Vegas Lights FC in a closed-door scrimmage at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif.

The opening 45 minutes was highlighted by Daniel Salloi winning a penalty kick in the 37th minute when he was brought down in the box by a late challenge. Las Vegas goalkeeper Raiko Arozarena did well to deny Dejan Joveljic's ensuing attempt from the spot with a diving save to his right.

Sporting KC striker William Agada came off the bench at halftime to play in his first preseason match of the year after working his way back from injury while goalkeeper John Pulskamp went the full 90 in net and extended his preseason shutout streak to 254 minutes over the past five exhibitions.

Sporting will resume training in Kansas City on Friday in advance of the club's season opener on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at Children's Mercy Park against Lionel Messi and Inter Miami CF in Round One of the Concacaf Champions Cup. Sporting KC will begin the Major League Soccer campaign four days later at Austin FC on Feb. 22 in the Texas capital city.
