The Swope Park Rangers concluded their preseason preparations for the upcoming USL season this past weekend, playing to a 1-1 draw with Creighton University to leave their preseason record at 2-2-2.
The Rangers kicked off their preseason with two convincing 5-0 victories over the University of Missouri - Kansas City and the University of Tulsa on Feb. 19 and 26, respectively. SPR then took a trip to Indianapolis for games against last season's NASL runner-up Indy Eleven and Indiana University, playing to a 1-1 tie with the former before falling 1-0 to the latter.
A 3-1 defeat followed against Saint Louis FC at Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri last weekend, before closing out their final preseason scrimmage at Swope Soccer Village with a 1-1 draw against Creighton on Saturday afternoon.
The Rangers will open their USL Western Conference Championship defense this Saturday when the side hosts OKC Energy FC - coached by Sporting KC legend Jimmy Nielsen - at Swope Soccer Village on Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT with a live stream on SportingKC.com, while tickets are available via SeatGeek.
