(June 15, 2015) – Sporting Kansas City opens their 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign against St. Louis FC at 7:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday at Sporting Park.

Tickets for the match, sponsored by the Mazuma Credit Union, are included in season ticket packages as Special Game A and Standing Room Only tickets are available online at Ticketmaster.com or at the stadium box offices on gameday. A live stream, presented by Sprint, will be available on SportingKC.com following a pre-game radio show from 7-7:30 p.m. CT on Sports Radio 810 WHB.

Sporting Kansas City is a two-time U.S. Open Cup champion (2004, 2012), while teams from St. Louis have won the tournament 10 times in its 101-year history dating back to 1914. The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is recognized as U.S. Soccer’s National Club Championship and is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer.

Tuesday will mark the first time in Sporting KC’s 20-year history that a competitive match will feature a St. Louis opponent. Sporting KC enters the U.S. Open Cup in the fourth round of the tournament and is unbeaten (5-0-1) all-time in the Round of 32. St. Louis defeated the Des Moines Menace (PDL) in overtime and advanced past Minnesota United FC (NASL) in a penalty kick shootout for the opportunity to play an MLS side for the first time.

St. Louis FC, an affiliate of the Chicago Fire, is in its inaugural season as a USL expansion franchise and is coming off four straight league draws. St. Louis FC will be without Bryan Gaul, the team's leading goalscorer, on Tuesday due to a red card received in the previous round.

Sporting Kansas City is expecting a record U.S. Open Cup crowd and all fans are encouraged to arrive early. Food and drink specials will be available from 5:30-6 p.m. CT at Sporting Park concession stands located at sections 101, 114, 127 and 129, including $1 hotdogs and regular sodas, $3 Boulevard Wheat and domestic pints, and $5 hamburger/fries combos.
