Sporting Kansas City will continue the club's three-match road trip this weekend as the team travels to play Western Conference leaders Real Salt Lake at 8:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at America First Field in Sandy, Utah.
After going without a win in April (0-2-2) -- extending the club's winless run in the month to 15 straight MLS matches (0-9-6) in the past four seasons -- Sporting Kansas City will kick off an action-packed month of May on Saturday and will aim to continue a markedly more uplifting streak that has seen SKC go unbeaten in the club's last 14 matches (10-0-4) played immediately following a loss across all competitions dating back to last April.
Sporting Kansas City fell 2-1 on the road at Minnesota United FC last Saturday. Designated Player Alan Pulido scored his second goal in as many weeks to move up to ninth in team history with 31 regular season goals, one of three current players on SKC's all-time Top 10 chart.

^Active streaks
The series between Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake -- highlighted by the memorable meeting in the 2013 MLS Cup at Children's Mercy Park -- has been closely contested in recent years with an evenly split 4-4-1 record for either side over the past four seasons. Sporting picked up points in both of last year's encounters, playing to a 2-2 draw in Kansas City in July before securing a vital 3-2 victory in the road rematch in October that proved pivotal in the team's playoff qualification.
Real Salt Lake enters Saturday's showdown in first place in the Western Conference and riding the league's longest active unbeaten run, a streak that stands at six games after RSL earned back-to-back road wins in Chicago and Philadelphia. Twenty-one-year old winger Andres Gomez scored in both matches and now has seven goal contributions (four goals, three assists) this year after ending 2023 on a high, scoring a game-winning goal in second half stoppage time in Colombia's 3-2 victory over Mexico at Estadio Azteca in December.
Fellow Colombian Cristian Arango leads the RSL attack - scoring or assisting on 15 of the team's 17 goals this season -- as the former MLS Newcomer of the Year ranks first in MLS with seven assists and second in MLS with eight goals, while MLS veteran Zac MacMath anchors an RSL defense that has made a case as the best in MLS with a league-low nine goals conceded in the team's first 10 matches of the season.
All 14 MLS matches this weekend will be available to watch free via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and pub partners in the Sporting Pub Network will be tuned to RSLvSKC, including a watch party at No Other Pub in the Kansas City Power and Light District featuring food and drink specials for fans. In addition, live radio coverage will air on Sports Radio 810 WHB, La Grande 1340 AM and SiriusXM FC with English and Spanish audio streams available in the Sporting KC App.
