Radio Rewind: Jaylin Lindsey joins The Sporting KC Show on 810 WHB

Jaylin Lindsey - Swope Park Rangers

Sporting Kansas City defender Jaylin Lindsey joined hosts Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine on the newest episode of The Sporting KC Show, which aired Wednesday night on Sports Radio 810 WHB.

The 18-year-old homegrown right back has split time this season between Sporting KC and its USL affiliate Swope Park Rangers, where Lindsey has started two matches for the reigning USL Western Conference champions. The Sporting KC Academy product signed a first-team contract last September.

Lindsey, a regular fixture on the U.S. youth national team, discussed a variety of compelling topics Wednesday ahead of Sporting KC's marquee matchup against Columbus Crew SC, set to kick off at 5 p.m. CT inside Children's Mercy Park. The defender shared his thoughts on balancing soccer and academics, his move from North Carolina to Kansas City, the host family process in the Sporting KC Academy, his experiences playing abroad with U.S. Soccer, and his ultimate goal of breaking through on the Sporting KC first team.

The episode also featured an appearance from former MLS goalkeeper and current TV analyst Dan Kennedy, who will join Bukaty in the Children's Mercy Park commentary booth on Sunday to provide the call for a nationally televised audience on FS1.
