Roger Espinoza's long-ranger leveler one of four finalists for MLS Goal of the Week

Sporting Kansas City midfielder Roger Espinoza is one of four nominees for AT&T MLS Goal of the Week for his 45-yard chip over Sebastian Breza in Sporting KC's 2-1 win over CF Montreal.

Espinoza's ambitious strike that leveled the match in the first half is up against goals from the New York City FC's Gabriel Pereira, Philadelphia Union's Julian Carranza and Charlotte FC's Andre Shinyashiki. Fans can cast their vote in the Twitter poll below.

Espinoza's second goal of the season evened the score at 1-1, setting the table for Sporting's come-from-behind win on the road. The Sporting KC midfielder showed his grit, blocking a pass with his chest, sticking with the play and winning the ball back at midfield. After seeing Breza was well off his line, the MLS veteran blasted a shot from an unfathomable distance, perfectly placing it in the lower right corner of the goal.

The all-around terrific outing from Espinoza earned him a spot on the MLS Team of the Week bench, his first selection to the team in 2022.

Sporting KC returns to the pitch twice this week, with a trip to Minnesota United on Wednesday, followed by a road match against Real Salt Lake on Sunday. Wednesday's match will air nationally on ESPN with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. CT. Sunday's showdown kicks off at 8:30 p.m. CT on 38 The Spot.
